Okay.  I've been working on a dress for my daughter.  I've come to the point where I need to attach the bertha to the neckline and I've realized I'm not sure how to do it right.  I can't find originals to copy and having found the idea from a fashion plate, it rather lacks the construction details.  Anyone gots ideas?

This is what it's SUPPOSED to look like.

This is the stage it's at right now.

Thanks guys.  I'm really trying hard to get the kids' dresses done before I start the project I REALLY want to do next...

One option is a very small piped binding; another is to finish off the dress with the binding, and hem the berthe, and tack the two at the shoulders, as for an adult's dress. I love it when you're working on projects. Smiley

Hmm... okay.  So just pipe them together as for a normal neckline finish treatment?  That's what I was wondering.

Yes--or you could pipe them separately, and tack just at the shoulders, if you want to be able to swap out, iron easily, etc?
