Dolly's Dressmaker

While researching for my upcoming article on benefit and fund raising dolls I ran across this gem. On ebay there is a reproduction of the publication from 1860 called _Dolly's Dressmaker Series 1_ which is a set of patterns for an 18" china doll's clothing. The patterns are full size and it also has instructions for making the clothing. The pattern construction is more like adult garment construction than the doll clothes construction given in _Godey's_ and other doll clothes books of the time period.
If you do a search on ebay for "Dolly's Dressmaker" you will probably come up with two hits, one for a hard copy and one for a digital copy send via PDF. I haven't had time to make any of the items but I thought that someone might be interested in knowing that there were period patterns out there for dolls like Civility.
There was a Series 2 but so far I haven't been able to locate a copy of the patterns. I've only seen a copy of the pictures of the garments in the booklet and they were a bag and shoes, four frocks, drawers, jacket and mantle, chemisette and night cap, and a baby in a blanket.
I didn't post the patterns in Series I because you can go directly to the ebay description and see for yourself what the patterns are and read in greater detail than I could post here.
As soon as the doll article is up on the web page I'll post the link. I'm still waiting for a cdv to come in before I complete the article and Mike has to get it up on the web page after the article is formated.

I saw that exact same "Dolly's Dressmaker" a number of weeks ago on e-bay! (I think I saved the images of it too). Thanks for Sharing!
