I'm sewing for a man who is very dear to my heart, who happens to be obsessed with blue.  I recently found this blue linen from Fabric Mart, and I was wondering if it would be suitable for 1860s menswear, and what exactly it would be suitable for?  I was thinking trousers, possibly a sack coat.  If it is a viable option, I'd love to use it.  Thanks so much!

Pants or Vest I could see.  He's got to really feel confident in plaid to do that as a coat.

Yep!  A 'ditto' of trousers & vest for sure.  Then an unlined linen sack or paletote to go with it and he will be "stylin"!
