"Speculation is the enemy of calm"

« on: September 06, 2012, 06:44:29 PM »

'Allo Ladies and Gents! I'm back! I'm actually in the wrong section as I've finished my underthings a long time ago, but this is the last place I was.
Sorry for the long hiatus...school, other sewing projects, a summer vacations filled with family dissent over roofing, then some camping and hiking, and school again (it'll never be over). And I have my needle in so many fabrics (to spin a phrase) I just plain got too busy. But here I am, I hope *someone* remembers me!
I finished the polonaise I had been mocking up--the mock up was so cool in white cotton, I gave it to a friend to make a Mad Scientist Steampunk outfit lol--and now the final product is complete. I'm finishing up the skirt as we speak and will be debuting the whole ensemble at the Northville Victorian Days celebration in 2 weeks. I'm also working on my husband's frock coat, which won't be done in 2 weeks, but definitely by Christmas, maybe by Hallowee'n. I missed lurking and reading all your great posts...and the *eye candy* ugh, so inspirational! I'm gonna browse around now, say hi if you see me!

Thank you Heidi! Alas, I've returned only to find myself out of place by about 5-10 years  Undecided  I may end up trying my hand at a Civil War dress someday though. I'll lurk for tips and tricks  Wink
