I have no idea what this rocker is in need of but I would love to have suggestions. I haven't purchased it.... but that can be fixed. Smiley

The answer is simple..it's in need of someone to deliver it to my house. Grin I don't know if it's period correct but it's pretty. I have 7 rockers[4 adult's 3 children's] and a friend once joked I was running an orphan asylum for unwanted rockers.

Lol, that's funny. Perhaps if I adopt this one, we can come over for a play date. Smiley

When I first saw it, it was peaking out at me from behind and under a pile of stuff. I uncovered it expecting and hoping to find one of those folding chairs that have been posted about. Alas, once I unburied it and hoisted it to the aisle, it turned out to be a rocker instead. I'm not sure if I was disappointed or not. It need some help. The carpeting/upholstery is coming undone and it could probably use some refinishing.

I am guessing that it's bamboo but I haven't had the time to research it yet.

I love it!

"Looks like bamboo" was a style -- but I can't remember what it's called or the time frame.

My husband built the narrow Lee Valley rocker for me as that design is considered accurate.  Similar scale & construction to this rocker:

Just drug the phrase "Chinese Chippendale" from my aging blonde brain?

I like it, and would love to see the ingrain carpet pattern up close. I probably would have bought it, but shouldn't. Of course, this is from a woman who owns far too many chairs already, and just traded a fine hand-sewn quilt for another double-seat bench chair. Roll Eyes Yes, you can call me a dope.

The rocker is very sweet but dates from 1870 at the earliest. Sorry.

Ms. Jean, Thanks for the information. I seem to be at a dead end with this chair. I have found 2 other similar, bamboo style, furniture makers but have not found this exact chair anywhere.

Mrs. Peebles, Here is a closer look at the carpet. Next time I see one I will get a better front view.

Stephanie, Thanks so much. It is actually good news for me. As much as I really like this chair. I am in need of one that is pre-war, specific to Pennsylvania and preferably Pennsylvania German. I am thinking that this chair fits none of those.

After having said that, if it is still buried the next time I visit that shop, it may find itself in the back of my truck. Not that I need another project just now, but it could find a place on next years list. Smiley I would just love to see it go to a good home where it will be loved and adored.
