I have an odd question. Does anyone know what type of flowers would be available in Ohio during the Civil War in late June?
Thanks for your help!

Hello,
Here is a link to The Ohio Cultivator 1862: http://books.google.com/books?id=BWksAQAAIAAJ&dq=ohio%20flowers%20june&pg=PA235#v=onepage&q=ohio%20flowers%20june&f=false

Here is a different issue talking about Lilies: http://books.google.com/books?id=mDZmcRJeJmcC&dq=ohio%20flowers%20june&pg=PA182#v=onepage&q=ohio%20flowers%20june&f=false

This page lists some different flowers that bloom from May-June: http://books.google.com/books?id=K3d9Djq2Q4AC&dq=ohio%20flowers%20june&pg=PA77#v=onepage&q=ohio%20flowers%20june&f=false

There are others but I keep getting caught up in the other articles in there regarding state fairs, children's activities, weather and advertisements for equipment.

Hope that helps to get you started,  Smiley
