Another Stocking Question

I had all good intentions of knitting myself some stockings, I even have the yarn but I need stockings NOW and me knitting them isn't going to be now.

My problem is that I am having a hard time finding some that will fit me.  I am a shoe size 8 wide but my leg just below the knee is 19.25" and just above is 21.5"  So everything I find is way too tight. 

Can anyone make some suggestions of places to find something that will fit? I'm open to cotton or wool.

Well, my town claims to be The Middle of Everywhere but shopping is iffy.

My just below the knee, 100% cotton, fancy openwork rib socks came from Big Lots & were tagged as Evan Picone men's trouser socks.

I wear a 10 wide, or the more delicate Euro size, 41.5.

People recommend Sock Dreams and Vermont Country Store.  That's  probably more helpful.

I'll keep my eyes open for you!

I've been very pleased with Kay Gnagney's white cotton stockings.  They are light weight and have elastic/spandex (my compromise).  I didn't find them listed on her web site using a quick search.  You might touch base with her for more information and to see if she thinks they will fit you.  The contact information listed on her web site is:

Paula, I'm in the same situation ...did you ever find stocking to fit?

In a pinch, I've used white MediPed long socks, NOT authentic but not binding either.

I sewed my own stockings using the Kannicks Korner pattern because you draft it to your own measurements. I don't know how much of a time constraint you have because you'll also need garters to keep them up.

Chandra no real time constraints but I think that is what I am going to have to do.  I found some that I thought would work and Micaila let me have a pair to see if they would work but they just aren't wide enough at the top.  Long no problem.
