This month Citizen's Companion will be running a article, I wrote, a Factual and Fictional story of a mother to be and her new baby. The article goes over what a new baby wears and the how and why it was used. I hope you will be enjoy it- I wrote it with all the  reenacting mothers and mothers to be in mind.                         Stephanie

It's a great article, Stephanie! I enjoyed reading it in my Citizen's Companion.

And for those needing to dress the newborn in real life, our infant patterns will do it.... you'll recognize pieces. Smiley http://www.thesewingacademy.com

My favorite bit was the "dealing with the umbilical stump"... kinda ooky with the folding and such, but a great detail! Smiley

I tried to go to the link, but it just takes me to the general Citizen's Companion site (I even cut and pasted, but that didn't work either). Is there somewhere else that I can find the article. I am clueless on how to dress my granddaughter!

Polly, you'd have to get the back issue from 2011. But there's a free article on dressing infants in the Compendium, and another on warm clothing, too: www.thesewingacademy.com
