Paula, Out of all of them I like the cheddar yellow at the top best. The others seem iffy to me. Micaila

I have a few fabrics that I am a little uncertain about. Would you ladies be so kind and tell me if they are period correct? The first one says a later time period on it, but I wondered if it would work for 1860s? .JPG) This one I think is actually a quilt backing as it is really wide. I have a ton of it. .JPG) Here are a few others I wasn't sure about.... .JPG) .JPG) .JPG) Thank you for any help!!!

Hmm... I agree. Not an expert by any means, in fact I'm struggling with fabric choices myself! But the pattern on the green does look the most '60s to me. And it's beautiful too

The two busy leafy prints are more '40s-'50s, but such fabrics were still being remade into early '60s dresses. Or you can use them as really period linings, since many an older cotton dress got reused as a lining.

Thanks for your help! My little girl really wants the bottom one as a pinafore. I know it is a little dark, but she really likes it. So the second one is no good?

Ginny, thank you so much for sharing this link! I've forwarded in to Auntie B, who is a big fan of magenta and orange.

Hey all! I know this is in the ladies section, but...I've had a gentleman comission a civilian shirt and I'm wondering if this is an okay choice? Thanks!

Paula, I would say no if for no other reason than that it all has a slightly quirky hand-drawn look, which 150 years ago would simply have been perceived as bad draftsmanship.
