Anyone planning on going to this? I'll be there and  I'm wondering if I'll get to meet anyone else.

As usual, I didn't get my act together until the last minute. Does anyone know if they'll accept walk-ups? ...or register by e-mail and pay when you get there?

Elaine -
The registration deadline is today. Contact Ann Wass at annbwass@aol.com or 301-699-1477; or Karin Bohleke at KJBohleke@ship.edu or 717-477-1239.  I'm sure they'll let you pay the fee on arrival. I'm not sure about walk-ups. They MAY accept them if there is space available, but the facility is not that large. Better to make your reservation today if you can.

Beth -
I'm looking forward to meeting you. I know there are some other members of this forum that will also be attending.

The afternoon at Shippensburg was wonderful!

Many thanks to Carolann and Martha McCain for their presentations.

[Very] Belated congratulations to Karen for her appointment to the archives.  Can we say, "out of the loop"?

The efforts of the above three are especially appreciated by the Newbie I dragged up the road with me.  Vicky is an accomplished genealogist and researcher but completely clueless when it comes to period fashion and claims she cannot even sew on a button.  For the first time she was able to view a large collection of originals and start connecting the whys and wherefores (as described in Ms. McCain's presentation) with her own clothing without becoming overwhelmed.  Carolann provided a foray into the unknown and started the wheels turning for Christmas presents (to be completed 5 years from now of course).

I enjoyed seeing much missed friends and acquaintances and welcomed the opportunity to refresh a stagnant, near burnt-out brain.

Still recovering from the drive,
Liz W.
