I finished the dress from Elizabeth's classes a few weeks ago, and forgot to put up the pictures! I also did the chemise and drawers, but haven't gotten a chance to photograph them.

My china doll Louisa is from the 1880s, but she doesn't mind wearing 1860s dresses. She liked Civility's belt and rosette so much, she asked me to make one for her too. :]

I LOVE Louisa's dress and your matching one too! I'm going to have to make my doll, Eva a matching dress like one of mine! *Nona contemplates what to do...maybe I'll have anough fabric left from my wool dress*

Hehe!! I'm glad you like it! I'm planning to make her a matching dress for each of mine which have enough fabric left over (it's a good way to get rid of remnants!). I'm also glad neither of you noticed the fact that my collar is almost falling off! I only have two which I change out as necessary, and so I just stuffed it into the neckline for the picture.  Grin

I recall seeing you in that dress...when you were visiting at the Kansas Sutlery (southern California or Nevada, not sure).  In the sunlight, both the fabric and the construction are beautiful.  Kudos!

Clever  idea for matching doll dresses.  They could become heirlooms.

He He He. Now that you say something, your collar does look a little crocked.

BTW, out of sheer curiosity, do you have a Live Journal or Blog like many of these fantastic ladies from the CC have? If not, then you should get one so people like me can drool over your creations (and visa versa!).

Yes, that purple dress has become quite a stand-out at events! :-D  So many people just love the fabric and the way it shimmers!

Unfortunately, Nona, I mainly use Myspace, and have all my dress diaries there!  :-O   But a friend of mine created an account for me at blogger.com that I NEVER use! I'll definitely update it (or start a LiveJournal-- seems to be what all the "cool" people are doing  Cheesy), and then I'll be sure to send you the link!!

Oh, I really want a china doll!  I love her dress, and for that matter, your dress.  I made my rag doll a dress to match my purple dress, and if I have enough after my new blue dress, I may make her another.  You did such a beautiful job! Smiley

Very cute! Hehe. I love how you and your doll match!  Unfortunetly I think all of my dolls match someone, I am a scrap-user myself (let's see, one is wearing two of my workdress, a friends mothers workdress, my apron, a men's vest and a quilted bonnet scraps; and the other is wearing a friends workdress and my 1930s dress scraps) ;-)

The belt is toooo cute! I'm going to have to make one of those for one of my dolls! I collar is adorable too, did you embrodier it?? My dolls are getting jealous of their scraps now.....

My doll IS jealous! She told me that she wants a sheer dress with pretty ribbon trim, a wool dress like the one I'm going to make, a wool dress like the one Anna is going to make,  a pretty collar, an apron, a shawl, oh, and a quilted hood too.

She is awful needy!

Oh, and she just told me she wants a belt with a roselet on it too. *rolls eyes* And some how, she wants me to aquire a nice trunk to put it all in.

Nona, maybe your doll and mine should get together and go mug other dolls for their nice accessories? ;-)
