In case anyone hasn't seen the pre-sale, here it is.

My Robert Land walking shoes are getting really beat up, so I'm excited by the "Eliza" low shoe AD's putting out, but the houndstooth is really throwing me.  I've still not seen it in an original garment, but reading the earlier discussions, I've getting a consensus of "houndstooth fabrics sometime appear in men's clothing, not in women's".  Does anyone have insight on this, especially as regards shoes?

Houndstooth is seen in period in a very passing few photos for fashionable men's sportswear.

It was likely chosen because it...
....looks old timey
...it looks pretty
...suggests Sherlock Holmes and other "Victorian" stuff
...it looks pretty
...suggests rugged British country wear
...it looks pretty
...it goes nicely with the houndstooth cloak she's making to model it with :-p

Give the shoes a pass until she offers them in something other than inaccurate houndstooth.
Amazon Drygoods is offering low walking shoes in leather, though it may be a limited run.

Thanks, Elaine. The Amazon Drygoods shoes look almost indentical to my beloved Robert Land's!
