Welcome!  This is the spot to visit about shawls, wraps, coats, paletots, sacques, bonnets of all descriptions, shoes... if it goes on over the dress, pop it in here!

Don't forget--you'll need to register in order to post (the member database dissolved!)

I noticed that there is a section under men's clothing for accessories. I was just wondering why there isn't a section for accessories under women's clothing for accessories like fans, jewelry and such? Or did it just not end up that way?

Just didn't end up that way. Smiley  Feel free to put accessory topics here, or in Dresses... I don't want to get things tooooo complex around here!

I am gathering images from the old books like Godey's Lady's Book.

I have some wraps and loads of other images.

Margie - would you place these in the new resources section also?

Wonderful images!  I'm going to spend some time looking at these!

I will do so.

All the images are from 1861-1865.

I had so many to upload that it was impossible to tag them all.

When I get time I will go back and add the years.   I took a photo of the front of the book then shot the photos.

I am happy to help others by pulling everything in one place.

I loved the "bags" and plan on making one soon.

I made a hat from the What Not and it turned out great.

It was surprising to see they did wear nets and the images were wonderful.

I have photos of originals on my site, and hope to add many more next week.  My plan is to take a couple of days and update things a bit Smiley  Although I lost some of my photos in the last "crash"....I have many photos of outer wraps, bonnets and headwear as well as dresses, wrappers, and children's wear.  I may start a section on men's clothing if I get enough photos to warrant it.

I'm very interested in the lace shoulder cape here:

However, I don't know how to draft it & it may very well be to late for me.  [I do CA Trails]  Jennifer
