I've been looking into men's undershirts lately. I was curious in particular as to what kind of cotton cotton undershirts were made of and if the seams were felled, overcast, or raw on originals.

Since they're designed to see hard use and laundering, run-and-fell seams are pretty typical. Good quality cotton cloth, similar to what is used for chemises, is one option.
