Was Ikat ever available in cotton?  And even if it was, was it ever used for a work dress, or was it a much dressier fabric?  I interpret 1865.

My understanding is that warp-printing was a more expensive process, and I have only seen extant silk and wool examples, but I'm curious to see what the big collectors have to say.

I haven't seen TRUE ikat/warp print in cotton, but I have seen a number of cottons that were printed to LOOK like ikat/warp print.
