Much of the time I just use it as a pincushion, but I use it as an extra hand to pin something down while I work on a fiddly bit or sometimes to help me get a straight line when I'm doing a hem.  I misunderstood the directions when I made mine, so I have a seam in an awkward place that makes it wobbly, but I will fix that for my next one.
