Okay, I had to test my guess, and here's what I found.

(a ways down) credits London Stereoscopic Company for a couple of the images, which would explain the curved top.
it just says "Sequence of posed joke photographs of five stages of putting on a crinoline, ca. 1860" and shows a couple more.

And just below it is some information about the London Stereoscopic Company.
So, it appears they're a real parody from the Victorian time...
