Title: Cooler Weather Coat
Post by: Mrs.HRay on September 26, 2016, 07:20:00 PM
I am fairly pleased with the outcome of this little project.
This is a coat for cooler weather events.  It was made it using tropical weight wool (chocolate in color), with a lining of champagne colored silk.  It is batted with extra wool fabric that died in an unfortunately dying accident and some muslin to prevent bearding.

I modified an 1857 basque pattern to get the shape.  I tried to get close to this image from Godey's 1861:
