Title: Lacet braid
Post by: EKorsmo on September 04, 2015, 12:25:43 AM
Does anyone know what it is?  Or what (if any) the modern equivalent would be?  I'm looking at a '62 embroidery pattern which calls for it (along with embroidery cotton, to be worked on book muslin for a collar), and the only definitions I'm finding are from the 1880s or later; one of them implies that it's not unlike soutache, and may be made in silk or cotton.  I think 1/8" or narrower cotton braid is the right idea, but would love some concrete information.
